ACR Poker ScreenShield is a new security measure designed to protect players’ table information from certain screen-capture and screen-sharing methods. On October 9, 2026, Winning Poker Network (WPN) released an official update describing how this new tool works and how players can request its activation.
Using this feature, players will be able to see their poker tables as usual while keeping protected information, such as hole cards, hidden from certain external screen-capture methods.
ScreenShield was initially enabled for selected accounts on September 29. It is currently available upon request to other WPN players, although it may interfere with recording or streaming poker sessions.
What Is ACR Poker ScreenShield?
ACR Poker ScreenShield is a table-protection tool introduced by Winning Poker Network to prevent certain third-party applications from capturing protected information displayed during gameplay.
Players can still view their poker tables normally, while sensitive information, particularly hole cards, is protected from certain external screen-capture methods.
Unlike traditional account-security tools, ScreenShield addresses specific risks involving screen capture and remote access software.
Thus, if an external program attempts to capture protected data through a method covered by ScreenShield, that information will be blocked from the capture.
Nevertheless, this result does not mean that ScreenShield can prevent every form of unauthorized access.

Why Did ACR Poker Introduce ScreenShield?
ScreenShield was introduced in response to concerns about remote-access software and the potential risks it poses to privacy in online poker games.
On September 29, WPN contacted players whose systems met certain detection criteria related to remote-access or screen-control software.
The network activated ScreenShield for those accounts before publicly demonstrating the feature.
However, the use of remote-access software does not prove any malicious intent.
These applications also have legitimate uses, including remote work, technical support, and screen sharing.
As WPN CEO Phil Nagy pointed out, detecting remote-access software does not mean that a device was compromised or that someone was cheating.
According to the network’s review, there was no evidence that its systems, poker software, or official downloads had been compromised.
At the same time, the Game Integrity team continues investigating relevant player and account activity.
The ACR Poker security update should therefore be seen as another preventive measure.
How Does ScreenShield Protect Poker Players?
ScreenShield is used primarily to ensure that information on the poker table remains accessible to the player but is protected from certain screen-capture methods.
While ScreenShield is in operation, players can use their poker tables as before.
ScreenShield works by blocking covered applications from capturing particular information displayed by the poker software.
This includes hole cards, which should remain private during active hands.
This distinction is important since ScreenShield does not stop all forms of hacking, cheating, or unauthorized access to table information.
Rather, it acts as an extra barrier against certain screen-capture attempts.
Players concerned about ACR Poker security may find this feature useful, although it is not meant to replace other account-security measures.
WPN has also provided information on this system to other online poker operators.
How to Request ScreenShield at ACR Poker
Although initially enabled for selected players only, WPN has confirmed that all players on its network can request ScreenShield activation.
Those wishing to activate the protection can contact WPN Support directly.
The process involves two steps, followed by an optional third:
- Send an email to support@winningpokernetwork.com and request ScreenShield activation.
- Allow up to 48 hours for your request to be processed.
- If needed, contact Support for adjustments related to legitimate streaming, recording, or screen sharing.
It should be noted that the protection might not be activated immediately after the request.
WPN has also stated that further account scans will be carried out, including proactive activation of the protection when specific detection criteria are met.
At this stage, players who want to request ScreenShield activation must contact Support, as an option to enable it directly through the poker client is not yet available.
Does ScreenShield Affect Streaming and Recording?
One of the major drawbacks of ScreenShield relates to players who record or share their screens while playing poker.
The very same technology that helps protect users against certain screen-capture methods may interfere with other activities.
Indeed, there are users who make recordings of their hands in order to analyze their mistakes later on, stream their games for spectators, or even share their screens with a poker coach.
As such, activating ScreenShield on all accounts could cause problems for these particular users.
This is why WPN has not automatically enabled protection for all players yet.
Players who require recording and streaming features should contact Support for assistance with their account settings.
In addition, WPN is working on a feature that would allow users to switch ScreenShield on or off using the poker software interface.
However, this function has not been implemented yet.
ACR Poker and GTO Wizard Security Cooperation
ScreenShield is not the only solution offered by ACR Poker as part of its larger plan to increase the security of online poker.
The website cooperates with GTO Wizard to look for any possible violations related to poker solvers and real-time assistance.
With this cooperation, ACR Poker can check if any specific situations that occurred at its tables were also analyzed using GTO Wizard.
This may help to find any cases where players might have used prohibited assistance while playing.
In addition to this, GTO Wizard’s Fair Play Check also includes data provided by its preflop ICM solver along with the exact time of generation of solutions.
This information may also be used during investigations of suspicious behavior.
Moreover, the two companies are planning to perform more thorough analysis of ACR Poker final tables, with the ultimate goal of covering all of them.
However, it has not yet been confirmed whether this is already happening.
Although this approach can lead to better detection of solver use, it still does not guarantee that all forms of cheating will be detected.
What ScreenShield Means for ACR Poker Players
ACR Poker ScreenShield provides an additional level of security to those players who wish to have their table data kept secure while playing online poker.
It limits certain screen-capture techniques but at the same time allows players to view their tables as usual.
Still, there are some limitations that need to be taken into account, especially by those players who use streaming, recording, or screen-sharing apps.
ScreenShield is just a small part of the network’s security system, which includes cooperation with GTO Wizard and ongoing WPN Game Integrity investigations.
